old saybrook cemetery
Next, you arrive at Old Saybrook Cemetery. You really wish you could come here in the daytime, but clock’s ticking! As you stroll through the headstones looking for clues, suddenly a black cat crosses your path. You’ve never been that superstitious—it’s only a cat after all. And black cats were only considered bad luck to the early settlers of America (Salem witch trials) and the residents of continental Europe in the Middle Ages. But, black cats are actually seen as good omens in Celtic, Japanese, and even Egyptian folklore. You reach down to pet the furry friend, and the cat purrs and begins circling your legs.
You realize she’s leading you to a certain row of tombstones—your next clue to finding Dracula.
